Built in teak, the Havelock Bar was a project that marked an evolution in the handcraft and computing process. For one, the client was a fabricator and the design started by taking into considering the their machine, which had a simple two-axis blade. By including the machine constraints from the start, the explorations on the computer led to a variable tiling idea. The beauty of the built piece lies in the textures and grain of the wood that were carefully mapped onto the tiles.
